20 School Lunch Around The World

It’s typical of American school cafeterias to have foods like pizza, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, banana, peaches, and/or corn as lunch for school kids. But did you know that across the world, they serve all sorts of mouth-watering dishes, different from what you’re used to in America?

For instance, in Lesotho or India, the government serves inexpensive food like beans and rice so that they can feed more school children for less, while some other countries, where school dismisses before lunchtime only serve snacks. In France, both children and adults eat the same thing and a multi-course meal is served during school lunch breaks, while in Indonesia, lunches are packed and brought from home since the schools don’t feature a lunch program.

If you’re a parent that prefers to pack your child’s school lunch, these food combos may give you an idea. Here’s a compilation of yummy foods served at school cafeterias across the world.
